Aza was not blessed with the good looks of Snow White. Like her parallel, Aza has a wonderful singing voice. Pale skin, blood red lips, and dark hair. The main character, Aza, is a teenage girl who is described to be like Snow White. Levine's version of the story is just as intriguing as the original, and possibly even more exciting and adventurous, because she takes the complications of the characters and the storyline to a new level. In Fairest, Gail Carson Levine takes a spin on the classical tale of Snow White and recreates the story in a different fashion, though still using many similar plot devices. ![]()
